ABOUT
BLUE STAR
CHARITY

MISSION & HISTORY.

BlueStar Charity Asia is a campaign established by a group of dedicated and charitable former – NPCC Cadet Inspectors, ex-police officers (SPF) and friends who embarked on philanthropic endeavours to provide joy and spread love to the less privileged and vulnerable community. Since 2018, BlueStar Charity Asia has organised various charity walks and fundraising activities to channel substantial aid and support, notably to – The Red Cross Home for the Disabled (RCHD) and Day Activity Centre (DAC).

With their roots tracing back to their formative years in the NPCC, the founders of BlueStar Charity Asia have harnessed the discipline, camaraderie, and values ingrained in them to create a positive change for the community, serving with their hearts, minds and souls. Their efforts bring tangible assistance to the beneficiaries and inspire the wider community and volunteers to join hands in uplifting those in need.

Established in 1952, the Red Cross Home for the Disabled (RCHD) is Singapore’s only residential home for those with multiple and severe disabilities. Today, the RCHD houses about 100 residents who receive round-the-clock care from its dedicated team of nursing and healthcare aides, physiotherapists, and occupational and speech therapists, who engage the residents in activities that enhance their well-being.

The Singapore Red Cross also runs a Day Activity Centre (DAC) in a 464 sqm facility in Jurong West, equipped with advanced therapy tools and a mechanical hoist system. It offers a holistic daycare programme designed to engage persons with disabilities in daily and community living skills to maximise their independence.
